- Dealer/Distributor Privileges. GenTran’s Dealer/Distributor Program is a privilege extended to businesses whose intention is product resale. Just being in business or having possession of a price sheet does not automatically confer the right to participate in the Dealer/Distributor Program.
- Ordering. Dealer or Distributor orders must be made in writing on letterhead and sent via fax (770-552-7756) or email to sales@gen-tran.com.
- First Order. Must have a net value of $500.00 USD and a Dealer/Distributor Application in process. First orders without approved credit will be charged to an approved credit card or ship C.O.D. Until approved credit has been established by GenTran’s Credit Department, all sales are C.O.D. or charged to a Credit Card.
- Shipping. When in stock, orders are usually shipped within 72 hours via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground Service unless otherwise specified. Orders too large or not serviced by UPS or FedEx will be shipped the most practical carrier of Gen/Tran’s choice unless other arrangements are made prior to shipping. Gen/Tran is not responsible for orders shipped by customer’s carriers. Prepaid shipments may be negotiated.
- Back Orders. Items not in stock will be placed on back order and shipped immediately when the items are made available. Backorders are filled in the order in which they were received.
- Prices. All prices are quoted in U.S. Dollars, and are F.O.B. Factory in Alpharetta, GA. Prices are subject to change without notice. Gen/Tran will make every effort to inform dealers/distributors of price changes before shipment. To achieve quantity discount, Dealers and Distributors may mix products from all categories (except plugs and connectors) to reach minimum piece discount level.
- Payment Terms. Standard credit terms are Net 30 Days from date of invoice. A 1.5% per month Finance Charge with a minimum charge of $5.00 will be accrued on all unpaid balances. Unpaid balances over 45 days will be charged to a credit card on file or accounts will be notified that their account has been placed on credit hold until the open balance is paid. A $25.00 service charge will be due for any check returned for insufficient funds.
- Freight. Transportation charges for shipment are prepaid and added to invoice for most orders. If special routing, carrier, or method-of-packing are requested, such extra cost will be at the customer’s expense. We are not liable for delays in shipment caused by conditions beyond our control. Claims for shipping or damage must be settled between the dealer/distributor and the carrier.
- Returned Goods. NO returns shall be accepted without factory authorization, regardless of reason. Standard products of current design, if new, unopened and unused in the original factory carton, will be considered for return within 12 months, and will be subject to a retesting/inspection/restocking fee of 25% of the purchase price, less original freight and taxes. Return transportation must be prepaid by dealer/distributor. Goods manufactured to special order are not subject to return. Product shipped in error will receive full credit. All returns must have a Return Goods Authorization (RGA) number issued by GenTran PRIOR to returning the product, available by contacting GenTran Customer Service. Returned goods must include a copy of the original GenTran invoice and the RGA number clearly written on the invoice and outside of the box. No deduction for payment on the original invoice is authorized until GenTran issues a credit memo.
- Refused Shipments. If a shipment is refused and returned to us without our prior approval, shipping charges BOTH WAYS, plus a 25% restocking fee will be charged. Customer account will be subject to “Do Not Ship” status until such charges are paid.
- Custom and Closeout Sales. All custom product and closeout sales are final, and are not subject to return or exchange.
- Product Warranty. Each Gen/Tran product is warranted against mechanical or electrical failure due to manufacturing defects for a period of 24 months following shipment from factory. All warranty claims must be brought to the attention of GenTran within 30 days after initial discovery of product failure. Manufacturer’s responsibility during this warranty period is limited to repair or replacement free of charge of products proving defective under normal use or service when returned to the factory, transportation charges prepaid. Warranty is void on products that have been subjected to misuse, alteration, abuse, neglect, accident, improper installation, or unauthorized repair. GenTran makes no warranty with respect to fitness of any goods for a user’s particular application and assumes no responsibility for improper selection and installation of its products. This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties, express or implied, and limits the manufacturer’s liability for damages to the cost of the product. This warranty gives consumer specific legal rights, and consumer may have other rights which vary from state to state.
- Trademarks and Copyrighted Material. Dealer/Distributor acknowledges that Gen/Tran Corp. shall review and approve any use of logos, trademarks and/or copyrighted material prior to printing or other public distribution of such information.
