This GenTran® transfer switch works in conjunction with your generator to safely provide power to critical circuits in your home or business during an outage. This kit includes GenTran’s Model 501210 transfer switch for generators up to 12,500 watts, a 50 amp raintight power inlet box in an aluminum enclosure for convenient, plug-in generator connection, and a 10 foot 6/4 power cord with 50 amp CS6365 male and CS6364 female locking ends.
This transfer switch is ideal for surface or flush mount installations next to the load center is in a basement, garage, or an interior room, and it accommodates 12 to 16 circuits like a furnace blower (gas only), refrigerator and kitchen circuits, well pump, lights, television, water heater, electric range, security system and garage door opener. As your needs change, your installer can easily expand this transfer switch to 16 circuits just by adding off-the-shelf circuit breakers. Designed for easy maintenance and expansion, this transfer switch works with Siemens, Square D (HOM), Cutler-Hammer (BR) and GE (THQL) breakers, and accommodates GFCI and Arc-fault breakers to meet 2008 Code requirements. Wattmeters are included to help you balance generator loads to prolong the life of your generator.
Transfer switch includes three 15-amp 1-pole breakers, three 20-amp 1-pole breakers, one 2-pole 20 amp breaker, one 2-pole 30 amp breaker and one 2-pole 50 amp breaker as well as wiring harness, conduit, fittings, a closing plate for hardwiring and wire connectors. A 2-pole 100 amp breaker must be installed in existing load center (not included) to feed this transfer switch. The raintight power inlet box is intended to be mounted on the exterior of your home or building where you plan to run your generator. Transfer switch dimensions: 14-3/8” W x 11-1/2” H x 3-3/8” D. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is recommended. Improper installations present hazards, which can result in personal injury or property damage. Not intended for outdoor installations. Never operate a generator indoors or in an enclosed area. UL 1008 Listed and meets the requirements of NFPA 70 Article 702.6 of the National Electric Code.
